About This Alternative Bookshelf

I'm a booklover who is living in this area as a student,and a foreigner.

I have been living in this town Karlsruhe for my study since October 2025. I moved to Germany on my own (with one cat) from a faraway country.

I love books.

Through stories, I can heal the wounds of heartbreak, taste the cuisine of unfamiliar countries, or travel back in time to an era before I was born; in doing so, I can either forget reality or overlay it with my own experiences, allowing me to reflect on myself.

As I love books, I’m fond of the culture of public bookshelves, which are so common in Germany. This bookcase on Gutenbergplatz is the closest public bookshelf to my home.

Unfortunately, however, it’s always rather difficult to find books I’d like to read on this bookshelf.

Don’t you think there are very few books here for immigrants and students?
